My step-dad's parents asked me where I will want to live when I move out.
Without hesitation, I answered "Here. Maybe Tempe. But even then."
They were quite shocked by this. You see, they are Arizona haters. And total lamespice.
So here are my top 10 reasons why I'm freaking out about the whole "graduation then college and moving out" thing mixed with why I keep my heart in the state of Arizona.
1. My mommy. Duh. I'll die if I live down the street from her. My mommy is how I function.
2. I'm true to my getto 'hood. Mesa Country Club. Riverview. Circle K down the street with an awesome guy named Red. Sonic. Police on the street all the time. Cemetery {who wouldn't want to live right next to one??} Hohokam :).
--- Be prepared for my post on how to survive the ghetto. I'm excited. ---
3. Homecooked meals. My mom is an amazing cook. She can make ANYTHING.
4. Grocery Shopping. I LOATHE this. Not looking forward to this awful chore.
5. The sunsets. I realized in Hawaii that Arizona has the most amazing sunsets. Hawaii - You know, that gorgeous island everyone speaks of? Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful, but Arizona puts their sunsets to shame - big time.
6. The lingo. Hill (pronounce heel), Saguaro, San Xavier, Canyon de Chelly, Mogollon Rim, Cholla, Gila...
7. It is January and I'm not freezing my honey-bunny-buns off. Most of the time. Arizona is freaking amazing. No argument.
8. The BEST Mexican food. All of you who need a yummy place to go, here's my tip: The more ghetto the establishment, the better the food.

9. Wearing oven mitts while driving in the middle of the summer is considered stylish.
10. Every season is swimsuit season.

I moved 600 miles away from my mother, who is my best friend too. You can do it! It's amazing to feel that independence and still be able to call home and talk if you need to.
